Is it possible to transfer h1 before 1st of October while in OPT with approved h1? I am getting mixed answers on this. Would really appreciate if anyone has first hand experience doing the h1 transfer before october. One more,, Do I need to have original I-797 to transfer or a copy is good enough?? Thanks in advance folks.

Yes it is possible to transfer H1 B prior to Oct 1st. One of my friends did it and the process was pretty smooth. Don't know much about docs required, check with your lawyer. Good luck!

Yes, it is possible to transfer. But it depends on the comany you are transferrring to. Coz some company don't wanna transfer before getting actual H1 stamp. But Some company does.
