अध्ययनका लागि अष्ट्रेलिया गएका एक नेपाली विद्यार्थी आक्रमणबाट सख्त
घाइते भएका छन । गत आइतवार विहानै काममा जाँदैगर्दा विपिन श्रेष्ठमाथि
आक्रमण भएको हो । उनले अध्ययन गरेको कलेज र नेपालको ठेगाना खुलेको छैन् ।
उनी अहिले अस्पतालको कोमामा छन् ।
अष्ट्रेलियाको पत्रिका द डेलि टेलिग्राफका अनुसार आइतवार विहानै काममा
जादै गर्दा ३० बर्षिय श्रेष्ठमाथि पछाडीबाट दुई जनाले आक्रमण गरेका थिए ।
उनी ओकास एभस्थित डे हृवाई फ्रेस मार्केटमा काम गर्थे । पछाडीबाट भएको
आक्रमणको कारण उनको टाउको र अनुहारमा ठुलो चोट लागेको छ ।
प्रहरीलाई उदृत गर्दै टेलिग्राफले लेखेको छ, 'उनलाई भुइमा लडाएर पिटिएको
थियो । टाउको र शरिरमा जथाभावी हिर्काइएको थियो । आक्रमणपछि भुईमा लडेको
उनको गाला र आखी भौँका हडि्ड भचिएको छ । अस्पताल ल्याउनुअघि उनको दिमागबाट
रगत बगेको थियो ।'
घटनापछि उनलाई स्थानीय रोयर नर्थ सोरी अस्पतालमा पुर्याइएको थियो ।
अस्पतालका प्रवक्ताले उनको अवस्थाबारे 'खतरा तर स्थिर' बताएका छन् ।
प्रहरीले उनको अवस्था चिन्ताजनक रहेको जनाएको छ । श्रेष्ठ अष्ट्रेलिया
गएको १५ महिना भएको स्थानीय सञ्चार माध्यमहरुले उल्लेख गरेका छन् । उनी
व्यवस्थापनका विद्यार्थी हुन ।
उनी मासु पसलमा सरसफाइको काम गर्थे । प्रत्येक बर्ष कलेजमा २० हजार
अमेरिकी डलर पढाई शुल्क तिर्नुपर्ने उनी तिन/चार ठाउँमा काम गर्थे ।
'उ पव जादैन थियो,' उनीसंगै बस्ने साथी दिवस वानियालाई उदृत गर्दै द
म्यान्ली डेलिले लेखेको छ, 'चुरोट नखाने उ धेरै मिजासिलो थियो ।' शुरुमा
दुबै बेरोजगार भएको बेलासंगै काम खोज्न हिडेको साथी संझदै बानियाले भने,
'उसले मलाई धेरै सहयोग गर्यो ।'
उनीमाथि अकल्याण्डबाट विदा मनाउन तीन साताअघि अष्ट्रेलिया आएको १७ बर्षे र
अर्को १९ बर्षे मेलेन्गा कानोन्गाटाले आक्रमण गरेको प्रहरीको अनुमान छ ।
भारतीय विद्यार्थीमाथि अष्ट्रेलियामा लगातार आक्रमण भएको सामाचार आइरहेको
बेला नेपाली विद्यार्थीमाथि पहिलो पटक सांघातिक आक्रमण भएको हो । सन् २००९
मा अष्ट्रेलियामा ५४ जना विद्यार्थीमाथि आक्रमण भएको थियो । त्यसमा आधा
भारतीय विद्यार्थी थिए । यसरी आक्रमण भएकामध्ये धेरैको मृत्य भएको छ ।
भारतपछि कोरीया र चीनका विद्यार्थी बढी आक्रमणमा परेका छन् ।
