Visa price is getting steeper Monday, 12 July 2010 17:10

नयाँ भिसा शुल्कको विस्तृत विवरण सहितकाठमाडौं, असार २८ (नागरिक)- काठमाडौंस्थित अमेरिकी दूताबासले भिसा शुल्कमा फेरबदल गरेको छ। एक महिनाअघि गैरआप्रवासी भिसा शुल्क वृद्धि गरेको अमेरिकाले भोलि मंगलबारदेखि आप्रवासी भिसा शुल्क समेत बढाउँदैछ। 'संशोधित शुल्क विश्वभरि समान राखिएका छन्', दूतावासद्वारा जारी प्रेस
नोटमा भनिएको छ- 'विदेशमा रहेका ३०१ कन्सुलर कार्यालय,२३ आन्तरिक पासपोर्ट
एजेन्सी तथा कन्सुलर सेवा प्रदान गर्ने अन्य केन्द्रहरुको काम कारवाहीमा
लाग्ने वास्तविक खर्च बेहोर्न नयाँ शुल्क तोकिएका हुन्।' गत जेठ १७ देखि अनलाइनबाट मात्र भिसा आवेदन लिन थालेको दूताबासले
अन्तरवार्ता दस्तुर नबिल बैंकमा बुझाउन भनेको छ।
यस्तो छ नयाँ भिसा शुल्क
१.
पारिवारिक आप्रवासी भिसा शुल्क $३३०.००
२. नोकरीमा आधारित आप्रवासी
भिसा शुल्क $ ७२०.००
३. अन्य आप्रवासी भिसा (विशेष आप्रवासी भिसा,
डाभर्सिटी भिसा आदि) $३०५.००
आप्रवासी भिसा सुरक्षा अतिरिक्त शुल्क
$७४.००
डाइभर्सिटी भिसा चिठ्ठाको थप कार्यवाही शुल्क $ ४४०.००

Does that mean $720 for HIB Stamping ? I don't think it was $330 before..Sorry for my ignorance but $720 from $330 is outrageous.

It is outrageous indeed but what's there to be done? Can you ever imagine Nepalese showing their discontent and deciding to refuse to pay the filing fee? I can't. Everything's green about the U.S. for most Nepalese and long will this schedule of price hike continue...until of course, Nepalese start opening their own eyes and start seeing more opportunities in Nepal.

From what I am reading, the visa fees have gone up only for IMMIGRANT VISAS (E1,E2, DV Lottery....). For NON-IMMIGRANT VISAS (F,J,H1B...), the fees have not changed. Someone correct me if I am wrong here.
