You have to fill i-131 form. http://www.uscis.gov/i-13 No one is guaranteed to reentry to US, there is always a small risk involved.

Advance parole only guarantees for you to come to USA. (Basically board a plane without Passport / VISA ). The port of entry Officer pretty much decides your fate.

BTW guys got my advance parole approved. I applied to service center in person. You can do that in extreme situation with valid evidence. Let me know if you have any questions.
