The most I have taken in one semester is 20 credits. However in usual semester I took 16 credits when I was in University.

i usually take 17 credit.. 5 subject with 2 labs but this semester i plan on taking 20+ credit i.e if get course override

Max I have taken is 23, but it was an unusual circumstance. 15-18 is a good number.
