Just wondering anyone in here has obtained Public Trust Clearance to work as Contractor in Federal Project. How long is the overall process and what kind of information do they dig. Please let me know if it's okay to contact via your personal email if I have something to ask.

Thank you guys.

you will have to fill out the 85 P form and submit a finger print card as well (go to your local law enforcement to have it completed). The form is about 10 pages long .

here is the link to the form

http://www.opm.gov/Forms/pdf_fill/sf85p.pdf.

Some of the details checked are employment history, education history , credit report .

yes you can get one
they look at your past history of employment education and
your friends and family.
I do have public trust clearance and it can take like 2 to six months to get it
based on the level you want.

Thanks Gohtalo.

@spur230
As far as I know employers are seeking US Citizen, GC for such type of employment. Don't know if that's something required by law. Check with your prospective employer.

@spur230 Yes H1B can get clearance.I don't think u can work directly with the client i mean they sponsor your clearance.
But the vendor can sponsor your clearance and you can work with government.There might be other ways but this is how I am working.
