I am in F1 status, I lost my passport with visa I already got my new passport but I don't have visa now I heard that if I am in status I can get my licence but when I went to DMV they denied to issue me a licence because I don't have the stamped visa in my passport. I live in houston any help............

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I actually had the same situation but it was of my brother. The thing that we did was went to the college councelor got the letter about the situation just in case. then informed the uscis. you actually have to fill out a form and send your I-20 with a draft it was around $350.

A replacement visa can only be taken from a consulate. Getting a visa stamp from Mexico would not pose threat. In alternative, you may also get a letter from the school DSO requesting DMV to issue a license renewal.
